Code of Conduct

Since our establishment in 2001, we have sought to establish the highest possible standard of operating principles for our business. One such step was to formally introduce the ‘Turnaround Code of Professional Conduct’ for our recruitment services.

Turnaround developed this Code for Professional Conduct as a means to demonstrate transparency, ethics, integrity and respect of all dealings in how we act toward and with our clients, candidates and others in an attempt to enhance the image and reputation of the Australian recruitment to recruitment sector.

General Principles

  • We are selective as to the clients and candidates we choose to work with.
  • We will not change our Terms and Conditions of Business to capitalize on changing market conditions.
  • Our consultants come to us with extensive recruitment experience thereby enabling them to actually “consult” to you and your business.
  • Our consultants work with you in an advisory and consultative manner, offering the best possible, relevant advice with your best interests represented at all times.

Confidentiality and Privacy

  • We will maintain the confidentiality and privacy of all information gathered throughout our relationship with you.
  • Any information to be disclosed to a 3rd party, will only be done so on your explicit consent.
  • We will obtain a candidate’s authority to represent before submitting personal information to a client.


  • We will never knowingly make false statements / representations about candidates / clients / Job opportunities in order to induce a fee.
  • We will never encourage or condone candidates / clients to break contractual obligations.
  • We will not pay inducements to candidates or clients.

Recruitment Practice

  • We will not attempt to unfairly or unlawfully prevent a candidate from seeking work from other sources.
  • We will reference check and face to face interview every candidate where physically possible before submitting details to our clients and in the event that we are unable to fulfill one of these stated objectives we will notify you in advance.
  • Copies of original interview notes and references will be made available upon client request subject to the inclusion of any personal information the candidate does not consent to being disclosed.
  • We will provide candidates with details of our client opportunities to include: conditions of employment, remuneration, company structure and history.

Headhunting Principles

  • We will not make an unsolicited approach to any employee working for our client without our client’s prior permission.
  • We will not re-represent to market any candidate we have placed still employed by our client regardless of circumstance, without our clients prior permission.
  • We are open to scrutiny with any statement in this Code of Professional Conduct and will investigate immediately any breach or alleged breach in order not to tarnish its name, reputation or that of the greater recruitment industry.
